60 things to do this summer: 1-6

As part of our 60 Days of Summer celebration we're butting together your ulitmate guide to July and August in London, sharing six top tips every 10 days, to make sure it goes with a bang!

1) Get cray at Aster

Nothing says Nordic summer like longer evenings, crayfish and aquavit, so Aster is celebrating Midsommar with a series of crayfish-centric events! Get to grips with the delicious little critters with a masterclass on Tuesday 18th July, and then for every Tuesday throughout July. You'll learn the best way to eat them, then enjoy the fruits of your labour alongside an aquavit or two, all for just £15 per person.

2) Play on

Shakespeare, sequins and disco music may be a few of our favourite things, but it's all too rare that the three come together... But now The Globe is remedying that with its acclaimed production of Twelfth Night, playing on selected dates throughout July and August. Tickets are limited, but there are still a few seats available - and did we mention that they're available from just £5 per person?

3) Just the tonic

Skylon on the Southbank recently received a bright and beautiful makeover, and has also welcomed a brilliant new Executive Chef in the shape of Kim Woodward whose most recent role saw her heading up the Savoy Grill. The perfect time to try her food is over a long lazy brunch by the river, washed down with unlimited G&Ts, courtesy of our pals at Fever-Tree... Cheers!

4) Italy comes to Canada Water

Ever fancied eating your way around Italy? Of course you have. And this weekend (Friday 21st-Sunday 23rd July) you can do just that, at Hawker House in Canada Water for the Martini Weekender. London's best Italian restaurants, including Sartoria and Radici, will be popping up at the open-air venue alongside a prosecco fountain and a bellini bar. And tickets are only a fiver! That's even cheaper than RyanAir.

5) A taste of the movies

This summer Quaglino's is celebrating in typically glitzy style, with Q Legends - a series of screenings, live music performances and more. There are also set to be a series of screenings, with each film matched with a sharing menu, inspired by the movie itself. First up is The Great Gatsby, on Tuesday 25th July. Tickets are limited though, so be quick!

6) Get lost in Greenwich

Even if you don't know her name yet, you'll definitely recognise London artist Camille Walala's designs from all over the Capital. The ace NOW Gallery on Greenwich Peninsula has worked with Walala to create a new interactive installation - WALALA X PLAY - which includes an immersive maze and al fresco ping pong tables. It's bright, beautiful and loads of fun - we're big fans.
