All about Aster

So, the cat's out of the bag and Helena Puolakka has been announced as Executive Chef of Aster, our shiny new destination opening in Victoria's Nova food quarter! 

Hailing from Finland, Helena's going to be drawing on her Nordic roots to create gutsy, flavour-packed dishes, which are leant a little extra finesse by her classic French culinary pedigree. 

These Nordic-French creations will be served in both the ground floor Café & Deli,where guests can enjoy traditional Nordic delicacies such as fish roe, pickled herring and wild berries, comforting cinnamon buns and open sandwiches of house-cured Var salmon on rye. Upstairs in the Restaurant, more refined dishes of meatballs a la Lindström, with beef and beetroot; juniper-smoked turbot with tender leeks and butter sauce, and even a tasting of fish roes and a selection of blinis with matching vodkas and aquavits. Don't worry if you're veggie or vegan though, there will be plenty on the menu for you too!
