There’s a reason why Quaglino’s has become a London institution; it’s glam with a capital G. This summer, sashay down the sparkling staircase and straight back to the roaring twenties, complete with jazz, live burlesque, swing dancing and of course loads of booze. The bar team have ganged up with Tanqueray to transform Quaglino’s into a proper prohibition-style Gin Joint – because everything tastes better when you know it’s a bit naughty…
As a teaser before the official launch night, Elle & the Pocket Belles will be hitting the Grand stage from 9pm to perform a playful set of vintage pop and original songs. Expect classical jazz from the 1930s right through to the 1950s, lots of glitter and some serious dance moves (and maybe a sore head on Wednesday…). And if you can't make it - or you just can't get enough, then rest assured that Elle and her tiny pals will be back centre stage on Tuesday 19th July!
Giovanni’s Gin Joint officially opens with a big glitzy bang on Wednesday (like any good Quaglino’s party does). The 1920s Dance Show have loaned us their fab flapper performers for the evening, who will be up on stage for a special performance of the iconic Charleston. Pull out that vintage fringed dress, cover yourself in sequins and get ready to dance – the Tanqueray will be flowing!
There is absolutely nothing little about these guys; they’ll be belting out original big band tunes and lighting up the dancefloor with classics from the Rat Pack and the Beatles.
Benoit formed his Orchestra back in 2009 and was immediately a hit on London’s cabaret and vintage speakeasy scene. Since then they’ve been bossing dance floors all over the capital with their contemporary take on 20s, 30s and 40s entertainers.
There’s certainly nothing mini about these guys either… Their big band performance features some of London’s finest musicians, a six-piece horn section and some seriously swinging rhythms.
All our 90s favourites with a vintage twist, a live band and gin on tap? Sign us up – this is Tuesday done right.
Quaglino’s is getting a little risqué with a one-off, strictly adults-only live burlesque performance…. Nothing like some strategically placed feathers and sequins to add a touch of raunch and a whole load of glitz and glamour to a Gin Joint!
Megan McConell and her boys are gracing the Grand stage with their original style of vintage jazz and just a touch of rock and pop.
Stay tuned for August’s events – we hear there’s a murder mystery night and a screening of The Great Gatsby on the cards…
